Jeffree Star 2016 Summer Collection

by - 9/30/2016

Let's be real here: these colors are ridonkulous. There is nothing practical about these colors, and I would be hard pressed to find an occasion to use these. I wasn't going to get these colors, because I knew that I wouldn't really be able to wear them. But when I really thought about it, I realized if I didn't get them now, I would never be able to get them again. Also, there was a Labor Day Sale, so I got the bundle of five for about $36.00. Couldn't pass that deal up!

The color names
These colors have the scent of pink lemonade (except for Queen Bee), and come in limited edition yellow and pink packaging. The actual containers are also yellow instead of pink. Watermelon Soda and 714 look similar in color on the packaging, but they really aren't when you put them on.

Swatches
Let's do some lip swatches.

Watermelon Soda
Watermelon Soda is probably the most wearable color out of the collection. It's like a hot pinky red, and to me it screams summer.

Nude Beach
Nude beach is definitely for a paler person, and not for me at all. It just makes me look washed out. But if I ever did a gyaru look for fun, I'd probably use this shade.

714
714 is another wearable color in the collection. It is quite light, but I think it could work with a bunch of looks.

Virginity
Virginity is the lightest purple out of the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick collection. It's a bit like Sway from NYX, but five shades lighter. Would be nice for a pastel look.
Queen Bee
Queen Bee was strange. It was really, really thick, which I was prepared for because it was a pretty prominent complaint about this particular product. But man, was this hard to put on. I mean it looks like a hot mess in the picture. I also tried it as an eyeliner, and it was alright. I'm just not sure what I'll do with this color.

I'm still not sure what to think about this collection, and I'm still not sure if I'll use it. It's just one of those things where I stand there and look at it, and tilt my head to the side wondering what I can do with it. It was definitely not a necessary purchase, and I haven't used it since I got it. But, I'm a sucker for a good deal. So there you go.
